The latest special issue of Sciences & Vie features an article on our PlanetSolar II expedition on Lake Titicaca. Conducted in 2025, this mission demonstrated that a boat powered entirely by solar energy can successfully operate in the challenging conditions of the Andean highlands, while showcasing the immense potential of solar energy in a region blessed with abundant sunshine.
Beyond the technological achievement, this expedition carried a powerful message: sustainable solutions already exist, and they have the potential to inspire both local communities and people around the world to imagine a more sustainable future.
This feature in Sciences & Vie is a wonderful recognition of this remarkable human, scientific, and technological adventure, and another opportunity to share the PlanetSolar Foundation’s mission with an even wider audience.
