Back in Cagliari in Sardinia after 2 weeks living on board. The weather was not really on our side. It was really cloudy. After enduring a rain shower, we learned to walk from a safe distance to avoid the Sardinian trucks driving through puddles, words of a victim !
Even though the sun was not attending our press conference on Tuesday, July 24, it was shining in the mind of every visitors. In a gleaming ship, (thanks to the hard work of Thomas, Etienne, Cyril and Nikita) everyone enjoyed stressing the importance of using solar energy on an island like Sardinia. We got in way over our heads, we had to organise a special visit for journalist in the afternoon as too many came to the press conference. Around 50 journalists came to see us ! We really enjoyed answering the many questions. Interest for solar power is real and we were touched by the ecological sensitivity of the medias and the people.
Many local important persons came on board and said a few words during the press conference. Among them were Andrea Pili, in charge of the tourism sector, the craft industry, and the commerce of Sardinia, Piergiorgio Massida, president of the port of Cagliari, Alberto Scanu, president of the Southern Sardinia Confederation, Vincenzo Di Marco, commander of the port authorities of Cagliari, or Oscar Cherchi, in the charge of the agriculture sector in Sardinia.
After this busy day, we were invited by Madam Carcangiu Bayre, owner of the « Covento San Giuseppe », a wonderful place full of history where we could get familiar with Sardinian traditions. We also seized this opportunity to celebrate the 19th birthday of Nikita, our stewardess on board. Happy birthday again!
I am coming back to Yverdon with great memories of this press conference in Sardinia. I will also remember the great team spirit that prevailed on board. Many thanks to our Italian friends of PR Consulting, Mariapaola, Giacomo and their team, Eric, Thomas, Etienne, Cyril and Nikita. We will see you again on another island, in Malta, to promote our message in favour of solar energy !
